Chloe

Bio

Chloe is the newest member of The Viridian Order's highest rank, and rules the village of Rockwood. She brings her specialty of Earth crytures to the group, along with much of the brainpower. While normally a bit ditsy and scatterbrained, Chloe has a tendency to fly into short bouts of rage over minor annoyances.

Initially, she set out as a member of the League of Magi to sate her curiosity about the world, but Chloe quickly found their reliance on scientific methods too limiting. The Viridian Order, on the other hand, offered a different source of knowledge - a Mythic Cryture's divine inspiration. Her early years in the order were spent maniacally sudying the Viridian Codices, sometimes to the detriment of her other duties. This didn't earn her much goodwill amongst the other Initiates, but when she finally graduated to the Squire rank, her knowledge quickly turned into useful practical application. Her rise to knighthood didn't take long.

Chloe's status as a Viridian Lord came through her creation of the first Wayward Bloom - a giant magical lotus flower that can teleport anything inside of it. The knowledge of how to create these blooms was given to Duke Oakthorne through a vision from The Verdant King, but even after the vision was recorded and circulated, no other member of the order had the skill to interpret the dream symbolism into actual instructions.

Ambition

Chloe is mostly driven by curiosity and she's always looking for new questions that need to be answered. By all accounts, she is the leader of The Viridian Order's research division and is the most knowledgeable in the Viridian Codices.

Despite her membership in the Order, she still works closely with the League of Magi for their expertise in research and experimentation. Archmage Lucas Loric is usually willing to spare some resources to help out the order, especially if new discoveries are at stake.

Strengths

Chloe benefits from an extremely high intelligence and can solve almost any complex problem given enough time. She often notices correlations that others wouldn't even consider, a quirk that surprises many people when she brings up something they've never told her about.

When fighting breaks out, Chloe is well prepared, despite her small stature. Her skill with magical armaments is not to be underestimated, and she wields them from behind a veritable fortress of crytures. Her preference of cryture types also compliment each other well, with one being strong where the other is weak.

Weaknesses

Chloe's instinct to share knowledge can be difficult for her at times. When working with scholars from outside the order, she's often tempted to spill the beans on the Order's secrets to fill in some of the gaps in their knowledge. League Magi know better than to press her for information, though, as it could cause issues with the Duke.

Socially, Chloe is quite oblivious and lacking in tact, and, while her temper is rarely directed at people, her outbursts can still put people on edge. She also has trouble focusing on things that don't interest her.

The one weakness that Chloe's crytures share is the Ice type, and it's one of the most effective ways to cut through her wall of crytures. Of course, her biggest threat in battle would be a combatant that can slip through her crytures and attack Chloe directly. She's not very durable in direct confrontation, after all, and if she goes down, so do her crytures.

Astral Pocket

Compared to most astral pockets, Chloe's is quite alien. Motes of earth drift amidst the raw material of the astral plane, and the environment twists and changes with her every whim. When walking from one mote to another, solid ground simply forms from the dreamscape with each step, growing plush grass to pad her walk. When she sits, toadstools rise to cushion her posterior, while trees or lithids grow to provide the back and arm rests of a chair.

As for their contents, each mote contains buildings made of various lithid crystals in the midst of lush landscapes, featuring all manner of colorful subcrytures. Within each building is at least one comically large tome containing a portion of Chloe's collected knowledge.
