Toxiloid
Description
While Toxilus tend to be dismissive of their younger kin, Toxiloids expect them to earn their protection. Typically, this takes the form of gifts of food that their lair-mates bring back, but they also show great interest in shiny things, as well as magical items. On the rare occasions that they leave their lair, Toxiloids will almost always be on the hunt for other crytures, as their craving for essence is the one thing that their subordinates rarely fulfill for them.
Combat
Toxiloids are ambush predators, and their fighting style emphasizes this. They prefer to hide and lie in wait, hazing an area with their toxic fumes, before descending on a weakened foe with their tentacles. When forced into a direct confrontation, a Toxiloid begins battle by blasting enemies with debilitating effects. They avoid melee until they think a foe has been softened up enough to not be a threat, at which point, they'll close in to finish them off.
